P-DTR
Functional Neurology

OPTIMUS - Physiotherapy & Pain Clinic
treats as the first clinic in AARHUS, using the unique, new neurological treatment method:
P-DTR
(Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex)

What is P-DTR?

Imagine your body as a computer.

Like a computer, you are made up of hardware - bones, tendons, muscles and ligaments, that is  structures  which enables the functions of the body.

You also consist of Software - The nervous system which is formed by the brain, the spinal cord and the sensory cells that send information to the brain via nerves.

The medical specialties work with yours hardware , eg if you break your wrist. The doctor may want it in plaster or recommend surgery depending on the extent of the injury. This is absolutely necessary in some cases and an important part of the health service's tasks and treatment options.

If you have instead had a long-term problem that cannot immediately be seen on scans or in any other physical way, it can be very difficult to get an answer as to why you are still in pain.
For example, if you have an old running injury in your ankle that keeps coming back, you will be advised to take a break, use support bandages or something else to reduce the pain and most often physiotherapy is offered.
The problem here most likely has something to do with your software.

P-DTR works to normalize the body's software.

Your software is the part that supplies your brain and spinal cord (CNS) with information via specialized sensory cells that tell the brain about the state of the body. After acute as well as old injuries, these sensory cells can become hypersensitive and send error signals to the CNS. When this information is incorrect, the body can create inappropriate reaction patterns that manifest themselves as pain, muscle tension, headaches, discomfort, etc.

The recurrent running injury can therefore be a result of previous operations and trauma - both physical and / or mental.

Using neurological muscle testing, we use P-DTR to identify these oversensitive sensory cells and changes the information sent to the CNS .
This is similar to restarting the computer if it has stalled.

When the sensory cells no longer send incorrect signals, your software can run freely, accurately and smoothly, and symptoms that were previously present are eliminated.

P-DTR is being researched extensively in recent years. Both in the UK, Russia and several other countries are in the process of studying this new approach to treating pain. When these studies become available, this will be updated on the page.
